A review of the boat builder in caloundra

A review from Rolf Stork

I purchased my Lifestyle 6700 boat about 18 months ago which is a good amount of time to get to know the boat well and consolidate my views. In summary, this boat is simply outstanding and the whole buying experience from the boatbuilder Chris Reynolds at Lifestyle Boats was very satisfying.

The Lifestyle 6700 boat is extremely well designed and built. Chris’s work in all areas of fibreglassing, stainless steel, electrical and fit-out is first class. Moreover, it was particularly pleasing to work with Chris, bringing his ideas and mine together, and customising the boat to suit my particular needs. As an example, Chris installed a Minn Kota electric motor on the bow and had no trouble modifying the stainless bow rail to suit this. Other customisations that Chris provided include kills tanks, upgraded bait board, down-rigger fitting, and fresh and saltwater deck wash systems, etc.

The LIfestyle 6700 ride on the ocean is very good to excellent, depending on the sea conditions. It tracks like it’s on rails and is very stable at rest. The hull shape provides for a very large cabin for this boat size, yet it still has plenty of deck walk around space at the bow. It is extremely safe with sealed underfloor chambers, self-draining deck etc, and the 300-litre fuel tank provides for a lot of range.

I use this boat for fishing trips on my own, as well as overnight camping and day trips with the family. It fulfils all these roles admirably. The boat fits comfortably on a tandem trailer which is very easily towed with my Toyota Prado.

The 6700 is an awesome boat and I am looking forward to many more years of ownership and good times with this amazing watercraft.
